If you are reading Gorgias AI reviews, you probably already like Gorgias. Fair enough. The helpdesk is popular with Shopify brands, and Gorgias says it powers customer conversations for 40% of them.
The real question is about the AI. Does it resolve the ticket, or does it just chat and hand the problem back to your team?
I spent time on this the boring way. I read recent reviews on the Shopify App Store and G2, went through the Gorgias pricing page line by line, and compared what the product promises with what merchants say after using it. Here is what I found.
What Gorgias AI actually is
Gorgias AI is not one product. It is three things that share the same helpdesk.
- AI Agent. The support side. Gorgias describes it as an always-on ecommerce expert that resolves support questions and automates actions like returns and order tracking.
- AI Shopping Assistant. The pre-sales side. It answers product questions in chat and tries to turn browsers into buyers.
- Live chat and the website chatbot. The chat widget on your store, where both of the above talk to customers next to your human agents.
Pricing is where I slowed down. Gorgias bills by tickets and by automated interactions, not by seats.
| Plan | Listed price (billed annually) | Helpdesk only (annual / monthly) | Tickets included | Automated interactions included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Monthly billing only | $10/mo | 50 | 30 |
| Basic | $77/mo | $50 / $60 | 300 | 30 |
| Pro | $471/mo | $300 / $360 | 2,000 | 190 |
| Advanced | $1,227/mo | $750 / $900 | 5,000 | 530 |
On top of the plan, each AI Agent interaction costs $1.00 on monthly contracts or $0.90 on annual ones. Past the included allowance, overage is billed at $1.50 per interaction. And each one also counts as a helpdesk ticket. If you want the full math, I broke it down in Gorgias AI Agent pricing, and if you care more about what the bot can do than what it costs, my Gorgias chatbot features review goes feature by feature.
What I noticed: the model rewards the AI for resolving, which sounds fair. But it also means your bill grows exactly when the AI is doing its job well. Busy months cost more.
What reviews praise about Gorgias AI

The positive reviews are consistent. Merchants like that the AI Agent takes routine work off the team.
HARBOUR LIFESTYLE left a 5-star review on the Shopify App Store on September 25, 2026: “The gorgias AI agent is amazing and has really relieved pressure from our customer services department.”
Maud’s said something similar on the Shopify App Store on September 8, 2026, also 5 stars: “The AI agent handles a solid chunk of routine inquiries on its own, which has freed up our team to focus on more complex issues.”
Inkkas, on the Shopify App Store on September 2, 2026, pointed to the part that matters most: “…it now resolves a real share of inbound tickets before anyone on our team touches them.”
On G2, Ewa K., Director of Customer Service & Sales Operations, highlighted coverage: “The AI Agent and AI Shopping Assistant have been especially valuable for our business as we have limited business hours and AI is available 24/7…”
The pattern I see: Gorgias AI earns praise for volume. Order status, policies, simple questions. It answers them around the clock and the team gets breathing room.
What reviews criticize about Gorgias AI

The negative reviews are just as consistent. They are about answers that do not hold up and tickets that do not get solved.
moonlit.market gave 1 star on the Shopify App Store on July 24, 2026: “both ai-agent and human support are dumb and waste your time”. The same review says the contact form does not in fact support multilingual.
PatchPanel, also 1 star on the Shopify App Store on July 6, 2026, went after accuracy and cost: “I have ads in 3 places to pay extra for an AI agent that hallucinates more than I did in college…”
Sophia Webster, 1 star on the Shopify App Store on June 17, 2026: “Their intent stuff is a mess, their AI stuff is half baked…”
Gemberry, 1 star on the Shopify App Store on May 18, 2026, described the failure I worry about most: “…the AI bot just says we opened a ticket and someone will get back to you but nothing…”
Even happier users add caveats. On G2, Luis S. wrote that “Some of the AI responses can be tricky at times.” Ren F. put it more bluntly: “They are building the plane while they fly it, especially with the AI tools they are building.”
What I take from this: when the question needs an answer, Gorgias AI does fine. When it needs something done in the store, reviewers often see it chat, open a ticket and wait for a human.
Who Gorgias AI fits, and where Minami fits better
Gorgias AI fits a brand that already runs on the Gorgias helpdesk and mostly needs FAQs and order status covered 24/7. If you go that way, follow these Gorgias setup best practices so the AI and your rules do not trip over each other. If your team is happy doing the actions by hand, that is a reasonable setup. The gap shows up in logistics. Changing an order, fixing a wrong address, chasing a lost parcel or swapping a size are actions, not answers, and those are the tickets that eat your team’s day.
That is where Minami works differently. It is an AI agent for ecommerce logistics that executes the action inside your Shopify store, so the conversation ends with the problem solved.
- Edits and cancels orders before they ship
- Fixes shipping addresses on the order
- Resolves delivery issues like delays and lost packages
- Turns returns into exchanges with automated returns and exchanges
- Recommends products to shoppers in chat
| Gorgias AI | Minami | |
|---|---|---|
| Resolves vs chats/escalates | Resolves FAQs and set-up flows; reviewers report escalations on harder cases | Resolves by executing the action in Shopify |
| Order edits and cancellations | Yes for unfulfilled orders via Shopify Actions you set up (cancel, remove items); changes stay in Shopify, not 3PLs | Yes, executed automatically as part of the conversation |
| Address fixes | Yes for unfulfilled orders via the Edit shipping address action; cannot adjust taxes or shipping charges | Yes, updated on the order |
| Delivery issues | Order tracking answers | Yes, resolves delays and lost packages |
| Returns into exchanges | Guides customers and relies on connected returns apps | Yes, converts returns into exchanges |
| Product recommendations | Yes, AI Shopping Assistant | Yes |
| Pricing model | Per ticket plus per automated interaction ($0.90 to $1.00, $1.50 past allowance) | Custom |

My verdict: Gorgias AI is a solid answer engine on top of a good helpdesk. The reviews back that up. But if your inbox is full of “where is my order”, “change my address” and “can I swap this”, you need an agent that does the work, not one that explains it. Talk to Minami and see what your logistics tickets look like when they resolve themselves.
